My Mom's blazer + thrifted Jeans + Blogger brunch
I remember growing up in the Philippines, I think my favorite memory growing up was when she visits her tailor with me. Yes, my mother had a tailor, who also made me clothes. This tailor would make anything from scratch with whatever fabric my mother chose. I remember my mother's matching printed pant or skirt suits, they were definite stand-out pieces. My mom loved clothes and she had a great sense of style. She was not afraid to wear any color with whatever print. and she knew what she wanted.
It's so crazy how my mother's friends used to say I look like how my mother was back in the day and that we have the same build, only she was skinnier. I didn't actually believe it until my mother brought out her old clothes from the past and had me try them on.
The blazer I'm wearing in this set of photos are from my mother's tailor-made collection back in the 80's. I pretty much fit everything she gave me, like they were tailor-made for me. This blazer has a matching skirt & it's laying around somewhere in my house, I hope.
I feel like the print & color is pretty modern so I decided to just "comfy" it up with a white tank and jeans. These jeans were thrifted and they were dated back from the 90's. It's one of those "mom jeans" complete with elastic waist! I folded & sewed the corners of the hemline to showcase my point black boots. My mom gave these boots to me 2 Christmases ago. The boots, the black choker & the body chain toughened up the look.
Body chain will be available on my MD.13 store VERY SOON!

MEET JACKLYN
She took these photos of moi. I've introduced & she took photos of me before. She's just super sweet & always has a pleasant energy. Also, I feel like she gets my aesthetic, similar taste in our photos, which is a great plus! For brunch she brought her fiance who is equally as pleasant. GOOD VIBES ONLY! Here's her blog
MEET ORIANE (far left)
She's our fab blogger visiting from Paris, France. Her sense of style is laid back but put together. Plus with her killer bod, she can be in a potato sack and still slay!
MEET LEX (far right)
She is the editor-in-chief for The Know It Alls NYC. She's providing a platform for independent NY designers and creatives to expose and share their work. She's very goal-oriented and stylish, too! That blue faux leather & tan fringe combo dooooeeee!
The day we went for brunch was supposed to be the day we have our picnic. this NY weather has been super messy so we decided to have brunch instead.
We all met up as Southern hospitality, suggested by Veronica. It's Justin Timberlake's BBQ restaurant in Hell's Kitchen. We took a whole lot of OOTD pictures, Boomerang vids & ate a whole lot of BBQ. We also had talks of goals, experiences & exchanged good advice. All in all, a great day.
GURL GANG!
